COVID PROTOCOLS
2022-23
▪ Individuals who have symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal infections, such as cough, fever, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea, should stay home until their symptoms subside and they recuperate.
▪ Testing is recommended for people with symptoms of Covid as soon as possible after symptoms begin.
▪ Any students or staff with Covid must remain at home for at least five days; Day 0 is the first day of symptoms.
▪ After the five-day isolation period, individuals may return to school provided they no longer have symptoms.
▪ When individuals return to school after 5 days of isolation, it is recommended they wear well-fitting masks for an additional 5 days. With two sequential negative tests 48 hours apart, masks can be discarded sooner than day 10.
▪ School nurses will continue to test students who display Covid symptoms. Depending on the severity of the symptoms, a school nurse may decide to send home a student who is ill, regardless of the testing result.
▪ While masking is no longer required, some students and staff may choose to wear a mask and we must all respect that choice.
▪ Hand sanitizer will continue to be available in all classrooms and common areas of school buildings.
▪ Masks will continue to be available for all students and staff.
